Matt Jay just turned me on to this really interesting op-ed that appeared in Filmmaker Magazine about a year ago. Independent producer Mike S. Ryan has written a challenging essay on the state of independent film, calling it “petty bourgeois aesthetics emboldened by a decade-long onslaught of overpriced Sundance-launched quirk”. Amen. This should be required reading for all filmmakers.

Last summer, we made a pitch teaser to gather funds for THE UNTITLED REDWOODS PROJECT (which has since been shot and is now called HERE BUILD YOUR HOMES). Curiously, it’s been getting some renewed play on a few blogs recently.
The best part about these are the comments people will say:

I love Kennedy’s speeches. This is a better visualization of his Inaugural Address that I could have ever come up with.
